Scrub Island Story More than five years ago, Joe Collier of Mainsail Hotels visited Donovan's Reef Restaurant on remote Scrub Island while on vacation. During a long evening of good conversation, food and camaraderie with the family who owned and operated the restaurant, the vision to build an exclusive luxury resort and spa on the unspoiled 230-acre tropical paradise took shape.

After more than a decade of planning, Mainsail Development Group, in conjunction with Scrub Island Development Group, LLC, broke ground in October 2005 on a $70 million resort development to include a boutique hotel, soothing spa, 65-slip marina and luxurious residences. The resort,
known as Mainsail Resort Marina & Spa, has a scheduled completion date of late 2007.

Careful to protect the natural beauty of the island which
inspired them, the developers are making painstaking efforts to preserve the surroundings that make the island so special. This is the first new resort development in the British Virgin Islands in more than 15 years.

Scrub Island Serenity Unspoiled Scrub Island in the British Virgin Islands is the future home of
the luxurious and refreshing Mainsail Resort. This private island is just one mile from Beef Island/Tortola where the airport is located. Guests of the island are overwhelmed by the panoramic views, white sand beaches, lush tropical foliage and gorgeous, accessible waterways. To continue in
the tradition of the island's peaceful nature, Scrub Island will not exceed more than 200 residents or guests at any given time, even after full development. The primary form of transportation on the island will be
golf carts.

Views with a Room The resort will consist of 59 units, including two-bedroom Marina Suites, Ocean View Villas, and luxury Long View Residences. Marina Village Suites (26)
Each of the two-bedroom suites offer approximately 1,260 square feet ofspace, including a living/dining room, two bedrooms, two and-a-half baths and private balcony overlooking the marina. These suites are located in Mainsail Marina Village, the heart of the development with a marina and retail space. Suites will incorporate the bright colors and patterns of the Caribbean, housed under colorful metal roofs.

Ocean View Villas (12)
Built into the scenic hillside of Scrub Island, the Ocean View Villas feature two master suites, each with a large bath and separate sitting area, all within 1,950 square feet of space. In a splash of cool Caribbean colors, the villas will bring the outdoors in, with an additional 1,200-square-foot terrace with private plunge pools and sweeping views of the tropical foliage on Great Camanoe Island.

Long View Residences (21)
For a true island living experience, guests will savour these three-five bedroom villas with approximately 3,600 to 5,700 square feet of living space. These luxurious, multi-level homes will feature a large bedroom
on the first level, which opens onto a covered terrace, separate dressing area and bath. The main level includes a large kitchen with eat-in bar, separate dining room and a large living room that opens onto a paved terrace with an infinity-edge pool. The master suite includes a large bath
and separate sitting area and opens onto a private outdoor terrace.

All units come with high-end stainless steel appliances, granite countertops and teak cabinets. The Marina Suites and Ocean View Villas and Long View Residences come fully furnished.

Apart from the main resort development, 55 private estate lots are also available for purchase on the island.

Keeping with the original theme and popular atmosphere, Donovan's is being expanded to include breezy outdoor dining and more indoor spacefor guests.

The Jumping Monkey
Guests can kick back on pristine North Beach while enjoying a snack or frozen cocktail at this casual beach restaurant.

Moonlight Bar & Observatory
Sitting atop the island's peak, the moonlight bar will prove a popular spot for drinks, desserts and a feast for the eyes with 360 degree views of the starry Caribbean sky above and sapphire waters below.

Getting There The most convenient international airport to Scrub Island is in San Juan,Puerto Rico. From Puerto Rico, guests island-hop via American Airlines, Caribbean Sun or Liat to the British Virgin Island airport of Beef
Island/Tortola. Scrub Island is just a five minute, complimentary ferry ride from Tortola. Additional options include flights into St. Thomas or St.Croix, with a 45 minute ferry ride to Tortola. Scrub Island will also have
two heliports available to guests.
